Melt Temperature Sensors


The monitoring of Polymer Melt Temperature is crucial to most processes. The Gneuss range of Melt Temperature Sensors feature proven thermocouple or resistance temperature measurement systems in a high precision but robust sensor. The Fe-CuNi (type J or L) thermocouples which generate a Voltage when heated are well established in the industry due to their advantages thanks to the high Seebeck coefficient. For such applications, type K thermocouples are also available (NiCr-Ni). Additionally, Gneuss also offers resistance temperature sensors type PT100 (2, 3 or 4 - wire). The temperature - dependent resistance has a value of 100 Ohm at 0°C which changes with increasing temperature.

TF-CX TF-CX - Temperature Sensor with ceramic isolation
The temperature sensors of the TF Series are ideal for exact temperature measurements in highly sensitive medias. The ceramic isolation guarantees a direct reading of the melt temperature independent of the flange or tool location.

Repair Service
Gneuss offers a repair service not only for Gneuss Melt Pressure Transducers, but also for those from other manufacturers. Cost savings of up to 50% on the price of a new transducer are possible. Should the repair be uneconomic, Gneuss will offer an exact equivalent transducer at a special "repair exchange" price.
